I was born in Trieste on 9 March 1972 into a family from the Slovenian minority, and have always been active in various cultural, sporting and social associations in the area. I approached psychology out of curiosity, then I fell in love with it and today I work as a psychologist – psychotherapist with a systemic-relational orientation. I have many years of experience working with vulnerable people (people with disabilities, people with various types of addiction, vulnerable adolescents, people in need of help). Over the years, I have collaborated with a variety of entities both in the public sector (Department of Addictions, Social Service area minors, Regional Guidance Centre) and in the private sector (various voluntary associations and social promotion, Comunità La Tempesta of Gorizia, Social Cooperative La Quercia of Trieste). Since 2010 I have been a member of the Board of Directors of the Association Sklad Mitja Čuk APS, of which I am now vice-president and director. The Association manages an educational and occupational centre for people with disabilities, several after-school activities and promotes social inclusion projects with particular attention to the enhancement of multiculturalism and the Italian-Slovene bilingualism that distinguishes our territory. My motto is: “you can’t have everything in life, but what you do have is a precious gift to be treasured…”.
